Read for a chance to get free ISK
The way I name my fits is very systematized, and consistent. Here are examples:
AS1 (675) "Nefantar Vanguard" 16.2
"AS" is assault. "1" denotes the standard tier. The total HP (675) is and parentheses. The true name are the words in quotations -- "Nefantar Vanguard," and consists of two words that each denotes something about the fit. The first word is "Nefantar," which are a Minmatar tribe that during the conquest of the other tribes by the Amarr, they joined the Amarr Empire willingly (under secret orders for the Minmatar Elders so they could protect another tribe), and they became the Ammatar Mandate within the Empire. After finding out the truth about why their ancestors joined the Empire, many Ammatar have defected back to the Minmatar Republic, and have reclaimed the name "Nefantar." In this context, Nefantar refers to the fact that firstly, the suit is Minmatar, secondly, it has Amarr-like qualities such as armor-tanking, and the use of a drop uplink (Amarr technology). The second word is "Vanguard," which is a warrior on the forefront of an attack to lead the charge. The word "Vanguard" is used throughout my (non-logi) fits to signify the use of drop uplink, since it is the responsibility of the ones leading the charge (or the "vanguards") to place the uplinks for the following waves. This fit is amazing in Domination; it's great for getting 30+ kills, and a ton of WP. At the end of the fitting name is a number, which is the price tag in thousands of ISK rounded up.
LO2 (721) "Alchemist Physicker" 53
"LO" is logistics, and "2" denotes advanced tier. I like the first word for my Amarr logis to signify a level of knowledge, so I chose the word "Alchemist," and the second word "Physicker" means doctor/physician because this fit is for keeping people alive (injector, repair tool).
SE3 (1645) "Supreme Tyrant"
This is my Amarr HMG sentinel. I don't bother with price tags on my prototype fits, because if I am using prototype, then saving money is not a priority.
SC1 (322) "Spectre Vanguard"
This is my Caldari scout fitted for EWAR, cloaking, and uplinks. This is for when stealth is necessary for placing uplinks, like breaking out of a redlining.
Suits of the same name series are usually replicated in multiple tiers. Now that you get the idea, I'll get to the point. There are some fits I have yet to find perfect names for, and this is a problem . . . somehow. I will tell you about these fits, what I want from the name, and you can suggest names. You can make suggestions for names I'm already satisfied with (above). The names need to be 2 words (you can also just change 1 word, and keep the other). If I choose your suggestion enough to use it, I will send you 1 million ISK per ame. Now, here are the fits I need better names for:
AS1 (788) "Defiant Hereric" 18.4
This is my most used fit, and the prototype version is currently my favorited suit. It's an Amarr assault with scrambler rifle, breach SMG, damage mods, reactives, ferroscales, and active scanner. I love this fit, but the name does not capture the violent potency of it (especially for the horrifying power of the prototype version). I would like a name preferably of Zoroastrian, Christian, Islamic, or Jewish origin that conveys malevolent power, fire, and light. I considered the Arab Ifrit, Azrael (angel of death), Shaitan, reaper, daeva, djinn, Aeshma (zoroastrian wrath demon), impaler, crucifier, and other names, but I am still undecided. I'm currently leaning towards "Burning Crucifier."
LO1 (541) "Logician Voidseer" 21.7
An Amarr logistics with 2 sets of uplinks, and an active scanner. Drop uplinks use wormhole technology, so "void" seems appropriate, and "seer" makes sense for a scanner user. I'm not satisfied with "Logician" (practitioner of logic) though. I want a word that communicates being wise or enlightened. I've thought of prophet, magi, philosoph, illuminatus, diviner (Zaria's suggestion), gnosis, but I am undecided.
SE1 (1337) "Titan Foregelord" 57.2
Amarr sentinel forge gun fit. I am not satisfied with "Forgelord," I need a name that communicates that it is meant to annihilate powerful things. Any suggestions to express destructive force?
Now I kind of wish the deathcard would show the fit names of the killer, oh, and also their SKIN.
Post your suggestions, possibly win free ISK

AS1 (788) "Deva Rudra" 18.4 Interesting. I was trying to avoid anything that wasn't from Monotheistic inspiration, but I kind of like it. I was thinking of Daeva, which is similar, but it means a demon in Zoroastrian religion.

LO1 (541) "Logician Voidseer" 21.7 - I thought of three words; Saint, Summon (Link), and Shaman
SE1 (1337) "Titan Foregelord" 57.2 - SE1 (1337) "Apocalyptic Leviathan" 57.2
Just my ideas. I very much like the word ravager. It captures what I feel like when I use it. I'm thinking of perhaps "Luminous Ravager," or something like that.

I'm not going to mix different mythologies, cultures, or languages, so no archangels mixed with Japanese-English hybrid words. Greek mythology belongs more into Gallente fits. Japanese belongs in Caldari. Shamans and Norse myth belong in Minmatar. I don't know about Hindu stuff, but I think it would likely fit best with Gallente because of their inclusive culture, and that the religion is polytheistic like the ancient Greek religion.

Also could you help me with Min suit builds when you have time? What kind of Min suit? what tier? and what intended purpose? 1st do you like the name ideas? 2nd all min suits at standard and proto tiers only 3rd logi for logi assault for main slaying heavy for point defense or a speed heavy mando for mando stuff and scout for hacking and slaying but without Nks
I really like the word destroyer -- it's simple, but really perfect for what I want. I'm surprised I didn't think of it.
I only use Minmatar assault, so it's hard to give advice on anything other than that without playing around on protofits.
Feel free to use my Nefantar Vanguard though.
Standard: Assault M-I assault combat rifle flaylock pistol flux grenade N-11/A flux drop uplink advanced precision enhancer advanced precision enhancer (good enough precision to detect most things, including Minmatar or Amarr scout that has max profile skill but no dampeners) Krin damage mod Krin damage mod basic armor repairer enhanced armor plate basic reactive plate basic reactive plate
The prototype version is still a work in progress to be honest.

Name Changes
"Titan Forgelord" will be changed to "Abaddon Destroyer" Half of the name came (Destroyer) from sir RAVEN WING, so he will get half of the reward 1 million reward (500k)
"Defiant Heretic" will be changed to "Defiant Ravager" Half of the name (Ravager) came from Jack the Rlpper, so he will get half of the reward 1 million reward (500k)
"Logician Voidseer" will be changed to "Gnostic Voidseer" Mine.
Honorable mentions "Zeus's Anger," by 501st Headstrong. fits perfectly with the forge gun, though not so much with the Amarr. "Deva Rudra," by DeadlyAztec11. I like it. Someone should really make a Hindu-themed fitting series. "Vulcan," by Joseph Ridgeson. Another good forge gun fitting name.

Even more change
Upon further review I changed a bunch of fit names again
"Supreme Tyrant" is now changed to "Praetorian Warden." In the Roman Empire, the praetorian guard were the elite protectors of the emperor, and the word warden means someone who is responsible for protecting a place. Perfect for a point-defense HMG sentinel.
"Defiant Ravager" has once again been changed, this time to "Archon Impaler." There is an ancient version of Christianity known as gnosticism, and it's followers believe that the physical world is an imperfect creation that we have been imprisoned in, and that the god of the physical world, the demiurge, is a false god who is keeping us from the true God. The real God has emanations of itself which are called "aeons" to serve it, and the demiurge also has eminations of itself which it calls "archons." The word "Impaler" refers to the appearance of the scrambler rifle firing spears of light.
This changes make sense considering I called an Amarr logistics fittting series "Gnostic" earlier.

2Berries wrote:Your naming systems are not specific enough. I pretty much initialize everything then group in order of:
Suit: roll/race/tier Weapon: tier/weapon/equip
So: SC-1 aARR sc is basic cal scout with adv assult rail rifle, scanner & cloak.
Sck.0 pRR hre is proto cal scout with proto rail rifle, hives & re's.
LG-1 ACR rsi is basic gal logi with assualt combat rifle, reps, scanner & injector.
Yada, yada, yada. Pointless. While I never needed to specify race, since the icons make it obvious (racial-themed naming also makes it even more unnecessary now), I used to be very specific with fit names. I had weapon abbreviations with tier-signifying numbers, equipment, and grenade types. Example: AS2 (768) aSCR2/bSMG2-AS-fG, this means advanced assault, advanced assault scrambler rifle, advanced breach SMG, active scanner, flux grenade.
Now I know my fits so well that it no longer serves a purpose to do all that, and names with carefully chosen thematic words are actually much better for recognizing a fit and knowing its contents then some letters and numbers. I had a better version of your system, but I evolved beyond it.
